Uzina Mecanică Mârșa manufactures machinery and heavy welded structures to customer drawings for the metallurgical, automotive, insulation materials and energy industries.
Production includes cutting, pressing, welding, stress relief, CNC machining up to 8 m and NC machining up to 14 m, and surface treatment. Complete assembly includes electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and functional testing before delivery.
More than 90% of production capacity is allocated to exports, primarily for Western European machine builders. These partnerships date back to 2007.
Production practices include dimensional control, documented welding procedures and traceability.

History
- 1939
Establishment of the Mârșa works
The Mârșa works open as a subsidiary of the Škoda works of Czechoslovakia.
- After 1945
Expansion of production
The site grows into a major state engineering enterprise, building trucks, front loaders and trailers.
- 1975
Dedicated military production unit
A dedicated military production unit is built and equipped at Mârșa for armoured vehicle hulls, with a test track for amphibious vehicles and a proving ground.

More than 12,000 employees
More than 12,000 people work on the Mârșa site.

Uzina Mecanică Mârșa
The military unit becomes a branch of RATMIL Bucharest under the name Uzina Mecanică Mârșa. Civilian truck production continues separately, as Mecanica Mârșa.

Uzina Mecanică Mârșa S.A.
The company is established as a joint-stock company on 10 December, following the reorganisation of RATMIL under Government Decision 705/1998.
